I've been serving Colorado Springs for 30+ years and am excited to assist you in learning this beautiful activity.
The best way to get started is to sign-up for my introductory offer. The Package includes 2-45min private lessons and the cost is $69 dollars. This is available to couples or singles interested in beginning the journey of learning partnership dance, available to adults 25 and older.
All students are taught using the Medal System. The Medal System is a series of programs designed to help you learn to dance. As you progress through the Medal System you will develop the fundamental skills necessary to lead or follow, develop a sense of rhythm and gain the freedom to add your own style and expression. As your skills develop your body will learn to move gracefully, men develop the masculinity and confidence to sweep a women off her feet and women develop the ability to follow a man’s lead which adds passion and excitement to partnership dance.
Introductory Special - Congratulations! You are now beginning a journey of dance that you will carry with you for the rest of your life. This beginning level of dance will give you a taste of what social dancing can look and feel like. I will introduce to you the most popular dances based on where you would like to go dancing. As you progress I will begin to have a good idea of how you learn so that I can make learning to dance an experience you will always remember.
Basic Program - The Basic Program is designed to teach you the basic figures necessary to help you navigate around the dance floor. In this level, you will learn three to four figures per dance, develop a beginning understanding of rhythm, and learn basic leading and following skills. Preparing you for the medal programs.
Bronze Program - This is the first level of our Medal System. The Medal System is a standardized style of dance that is recognized throughout all major countries. The Bronze Program is designed to teach you all aspects of partnership dancing, including learning all fundamental patterns necessary to dance a complete song without repeating a step and learning how to stylize each dance to give it the look of a confident dancer. Also you will develop great partnership skill so you will not be afraid to dance with any person you choose. Finally, you will develop your own personality and learn to enjoy yourself by become more expressive.
Silver Program - This level is designed for people who aspire to be the most advanced social dancers. Silver-level dancers are the people you love to watch on the dance floor. When learning this level, dancers learn figures that allow them more freedom of movement around the floor, giving them advanced floor craft skills and creating the look of being the best dancers on the floor.
Gold Program - This level is designed for the performance oriented dancer, from showcase to competitive dancing. The Gold Program is exhibition program designed for the serious hobbyist. Naturally, these people are fabulous social dancers.
If your interest is in the traditional style of partnership dance, the Ballroom dances are for you. There are two styles the Smooth category, Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot and Vienesse Waltz and the Rhythm category Cha Cha, Rumba, East Coast Swing, Bolero and Mambo.
The fun and excitement of learning Counrty & Western dance is so infectious. There are two categories here as well. The Smooth category, Waltz, Nightclub Two Step, Triple Two Step and West Coast Swing. The Rhythm category, Two Step, Cha Cha, Polka, and East Coast Swing.
This style is for people that attend events like Fundraisers, New Years Eve dances Corporate parties and Weddings, West Coast Swing, Cha Cha, Hustle, Nightclub Two Step.
If your interest involves Latin Dance music then this style is for you. The dances that make up this experience are Salsa, Bachata, Merengue and Cumbia.
Learning to dance for your wedding can be an experience you will never forget. As you learn to partner each other, the metaphors of marriage and dance start to reveal themselves. The experience of learning to dance together will deepen your understanding of each other and bring you closer. As we begin, choosing the dance that best fits your song for the first dance and learning the basic steps for that dance are the priority. When accomplished we can add fanciers moves or partnering techniques that will make dancing easier. Depending on your learning style I can customize or choreograph a routine for you. I can’t wait to help bring this ageless activity to your wedding and the rest of your lives together.
The delicate nature of a fathers heart for you his daughter as he gives you to your new husband is an emotional roller coaster ride. A honorable father knows this day is coming and has been secretly preparing for this day. As you consider this part of the reception let your father present to you the song he has always wanted to dance with you. If you decide to learn the dance that best fits the song I can help. I doesn’t need to take very long but a couple of lessons can go along way. The precious moments you have together on the dance lesson can give you confidence and memories that will last the rest of your lives.

My name is Brad Ackerman and I teach private partnership dance instruction to complete beginners and all levels of advanced dancers. The learning experience in the studio will be the most valuable part of your journey. I also offer alternative activities that make practice more enjoyable. From social dance parties to city social dance tours were I take small groups to dinner/dance evenings to learn where the hot spots for partnership dancing are. I help interested dancers in preparing for showcase performances and competitive events. I organize an event that helps students test out of the different levels of dance that they have accomplished.
