My wife and I attended this training course together, taught by Caralee Frederic from Principal Skills Relationship Center here in Colorado Springs. This course was developed by John & Julie Gottman from the Gottman Institute. All courses have help our marriage and to further my development as a man and husband. If any of these courses are interesting to you I would absolutely recommend them especially Caralee Frederic, she is a patient and highly educated professional.

My wife and I were so moved by our first experience that we took the course a second time. The practices and reenforcing of all that we learned was reassuring and confidence building. Through out the weekend retreat there were breakout sessions that gave us a change to work on issues that we needed to address and understand. We were so glad for the time together and beginning the journey of deeper understanding for one another.

This weekend retreat was taught by Adam & Caroline Young (Ft. Collins), Sam & Amanda Jolman (Colorado Springs) and Jared & Megan Anderson (Colorado Springs). As listeners of Adam Youngs podcast called The Place we find Ourselves we learned about this conference and signed up. We were so blessed to learn from all of the presenters giving us a new perspective on conflict and our stories or origin.

This weekend retreat was taught by Chris & Beth Bruno (Ft. Collins), Sam & Amanda Jolman (Colorado Springs) and Jared & Megan Anderson (Colorado Springs). This marriage conference was dedicated to continuing the understanding of our stories of origin, the metaphors that Jared & Megan brought were so poignant and clarifying. We finished the weekend with a deeper understand of our stories and how the compassion we give each other can become a healing experience that we both need.
Allender Center - Redeeming Heartache
Mill City Church - Ft Collins
Dan Allender and Kathy Loerzel wrote Redeeming heartache together. The book was published in 2021 and became my favorite book. My wife and I attended a conference developed to more fully develop and bring to light that we must all learn and understand our heartache. The conference was taught by Adam Young and Kathy Loerzel and gave me insight to what is in store for me as I work through my own heartache.
Allender Center - Marriage Conference
Mill City Church - Ft Collins
This conference was taught by Dan & Becky Allender "Allender Center" and Steve & Lisa Call "The Reconnect Institute." This weekend was such a blessing to my wife and I, as both couples used personal stories of the failings and successes in their own marriages I fully accepted that my own failures were normal and the judgement toward myself melted into compassion. I will never forget this experience as it has given us material that we are working on weekly.
Wild at Heart Men's Bootcamp
As I prepare myself for this event I am reading two books written by John Eldridge. First his highly acclaimed "Wild at Heart" which the bootcamp is based on and second his most recently published book "Resilient." Written during the pandemic, his insights have been invaluable to me. More to come when I return from the event. Looking forward to connecting with the 400 men attending from all over the world.
Update - It's been a couple of day since returning from this event. John Eldridge and his team have provided me with a framework of reclaiming my masculine heart. My childhood didn't include a father who provide me with a safe home, a health role model of a man with a wholehearted existence. This four day bootcamp gave me an opportunity to connect with 450 men from 21 counrties and 46 states. As I met man after man I began to realize that all of them had left their armor at home giving me the freedom to connect in ways that would have never been possible otherwise. As I sat through the sessions I began to realize the forgiveness that I need to offer, the sonship that I need to accept and the journey of the masculine heart that I need walk. I can't recommend this experience enough for any man struggling, thank you to John Eldridge and his team for creating this event and enduring the journey to bring this to me when I was ready. Thank you!
Allender Center -The Story Workshop
It's been almost a week since attending this event. I was challenged in ways that I have never felt. It will take me many months to fully process and understand all that I experienced and learned. The event was 12 hours of lecture and the rest over several day in small group. The goal was to read a story aloud of child
